HARRISONBURG, VA - Eddie Gilmore Howard, II, 60, of Harrisonburg departed this life on February 22, 2018 at his residence.
He was born March 17, 1957 at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, AK, he was the son of the late Eddie G. Howard and Delores Delrio Carter Howard.
Eddie graduated from Waynesboro High School, class of 1976. He served in the US Army in Korea and Hawaii. He was a production worker at Holly Farms in Harrisonburg and also worked at Grand Home Furnishings.
Eddie's passion was singing and he sung in a few gospel groups in the area. He was a baptized believer. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid LA Lakers fan.
He is survived by a daughter, Alexia Bullock of Boston Mass.; two grandchildren, Malik and lyana; two brothers, Terry A. Howard and wife, Evette, of Staunton, and Christopher Howard of Albemarle County; a sister, Marian Howard of Albemarle County; a step mother, Marcha Howard of Albemarle County; two nieces and three nephews; a special aunt, Gloria Howard Carter of Harrisonburg; a special friend, Scott Strother; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marilynn Williams.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg with Minister Alphonso Jordan officiating.
Burial will be in Newtown Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home or they may call at the home of his brother, Terry, at any time.
Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post #76.
